After his marriage he farmed for three years, the too, up modern road building, rolling macadem on the first hard surfaced road in Allegany County. Hen ten became Supreintendent under State road Commissioner Clinton Uhr. After three years, he took, up contracting for himself. He and his wife were members of St. Paul's English Lutheran Church, and lives at Mapleside. He was a Democrat and leader in the South End of Cumberland.
