Margaret Irwin NESBITT and at least 5 of their sons are buried in Ebenezer Presbyterian Cem., Indiana Co., PA. The dates in the cemetery records for Margaret are 1820-1907, the same as Jacob in the biography PAINB1 p1183. The spend the first 2 years on a farm on the Big Miami, near Colrain in Hamilton  Co., then moved to near Xenia. Jacob lived with his dau. Elizabeth and her husband, William BALATINE, in Kenton, Harden Co., OH, They were members of the Methodist Episcopal church. Jacob is buried in Woodlawn Cem., Greene Co.. At age 22 he went to Springfield, Clarke Co., OH, and entered the merchandizing business with his brother-in-law, John b. CARRICK (m. Nancy). In 1837 he returned to Xenia, Green Co., OH, and ran a business until 1843, when he read law with B. F. Howard. He was admitted to the bar in 1845 in Springfield, Clark Co., He wrote the first Republican platform at the Congressional Convention in Xenia. He was a member of the Board of Equalization for landed property in Xenia Senatorial District, and mayor of Xenia many years. In 1864 he was Provost Marshall of the 7th Congressional District.
