WALLINGFORD, d. c1681, at sea, or as a captive of unknown forces as it were, m. 30 Aug 1654, MA, (2033) Sarah TRAVIS, b. c1636, d/o Henry and Bridget (____?) TRAVIS (4066/4067) . Nicholas was born probably near Southhampton, ENG, and it appears that his mother was a sister of William GORE of Nether Wallop, who made a will in 1656. He was a port boy, servant of Stephen Kent, who came in the ship "Confidence', 24 Apr 1638, to Newbury, MA. He bought from Henry TRAVIS, a farm, 1 Oct 1659, and moved to Bradford. He was made a Free Mason in 1670. Nicholas was the first of the family to come to the Americas. He left a widow and thirteen children when he was lost at sea in 1681.
