486.3a7 Edward SINN, b. 10 Nov 1819, d. 19 Jul 1902, Frederick Co., MD, s/o Johann Heinrich and Catherine SINN (486.3a), m. 3 Feb 1842, Frederick Co., Eveline P. ELKINS, b. 1 Feb 1824, d. 21 May 1888, age 62, d/o William ELKINS. Edward was an early stage driver on the Old national Turnpike. In 1850 Edward and family were living with his mother in Frederick, Frederick, Co. In 1860 and 1880 Edward ran a livery stable in Frederick. In 1852, he built a two-story brick home next to 'Swamp Hall'. He was elected councilman in Ward 2, Frederick, and 6 Feb 1871, he was nominated as an alderman. An incident at the livery demonstrates Edwards ability to take matters into his own hands. In Jul or Aug 1850, a man about 70 or 73 years old, with white hair, hired from the SINN Livery, a gig and horse to go to Woodsboro, to return in the evening. When he did not return, J. T. SINN (probably nephew, #486.3a5) went in pursuit, to no avail. Edward then followed and overtook the man near Harrisburg, PA. At a tavern he saw the gig standing at the door of the tavern, and the horse in the stable. He arrested the man and put him in jail in Harrisburg. J. T. SINN then went to Annapolis, to get a request for the mans return to Frederick from Gov. Hicks. Edward brought him back to Frederick, fed him a good dinner, then put him in jail. The assailant went by several names, but Elijah D. Bowen was supposed to be his real name. In 1900 Edward was living in Buckeystown, Frederick Co., with daughter Edith GISE and her children in the household. Edward and Eveline are buried in Mt. 486.3a7c Kate SINN b. 3 Nov 1840, d. 1 May 1886, Frederick Co., MD, m. 25 Aug 1869, Frederick Co., Robert G. LAMAR b. 28 Jan 1848, d. 24 Jul 1885, s/o Richard J. and Catherien A. LAMAR. Roger was livery stable hand in the 1880 census, probably working for his father-in-law. Kate and Robert are buried in Mt. Olivet Cem., Frederick. (MDFRB2, 33, MDFR8, 11)

486.3a7c3 Alice M. LAMAR b. 1873, MD, d. 1942, Frederick  Co., MD, m. 14 Jun 1893, Frederick Co., Bradley H. HOKE, b. 1874 (8 Dec 1871 in Frederick Co., History), Ceresville, Frederick Co., d. 1945, Frederick  Co., s/o Samuel and Sarah (HARTMAN) HOKE. Bradley attended Frederick City College, Franklin and Marshall, and Hannemann Medical College in Philadelphia. He located his practice in Myersville, Frederick Co. In 1870 he was in Frederick, Frederick Co. In 1880 he was working in a livery stable in Frederick. In 1900 the family was living with his parents in Frederick. In 1910 He was in Jackson District, Frederick Co.,  In 1920, they were located in Myersdale, Somerset Co., PA. Alice and Bradley were members of the United Brethren Church and buried in Mt. William operated a wholesale grocery business in Frederick. They are buried in Mt. Olivet Cem., Frederick, Frederick Co. (MDFRB2, 12 p702, 32-33, MDFR8, 11)

Charles William graduated from Yale Law School, was a member of the New Haven Bar Association, New Haven, CT, and a clerk of Common Pleas Court. In 1880 hew was a wholesale grocer in Frederick, Frederick Co., MD. In 1910 he was a lawyer in New Haven, CT. In 1920 he was the Municipal County Clerk, living in the 8th. Ward, New Haven. In 1930, he was a postmaster in New Haven, with Mary BUSHNELL, his mother-in-law in the household. (CTNH6-8, MDFR11) Children:
