SEIBERT (392/393), d. 1802, Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., VA., m. c1740-42, (197) Cathereine REIS?, b. 1724, d. 1790, PA.  Johann Wendel SEIBERT imported 25 Oct 1738 on the Ship Davy, William Patton, Master, from Amsterdam, along with his brother-in-law Jacob STEPHAN and sister Cathereine (SEIBERT) STEPHEN. Wendel was a sergeant in Wolf's Company from Bethel and Tulpenhocken Twps., Berks Co., PS. In aug and Sep 1776 he was at South Amboy, NJ, at the mouth of the Raitan River, opposite the southern extremity of Staten Island during the Battle of Long Island. On 1 Dec 1781 he witnessed the will of his brother-in-law, Christina LOWER (LAUER) at Tulpenhocken, Berks Co. In 1791 he built his home in Berkeley Co., VA, which still stands today and is occupied by some of his descendants.
