at 394 acres on 14 May 1757. The land was deeded to son Deitrich MEYER on
18 Jun 1762, with the exception of 19 acres sold to Peter MEYER. It has
not been determined where these children were born; probably most or all were born

George was named on a list of Lutheran parishoners who arrived in Philadelphia in 1732, along with his brother Deitrich. In the 1740s George was one of the elders of the First Reformed Church in York. Georg and Catharina sponsored the baptism of Joh. Gorg s/o Jacob and Barbara Amman (date missing, but probably before 1745). George and Barbara sponsored the baptism of Barbara d/o of Conrad and Catharina Muller on 17 Mar 1745; the baptism of Hans Gorg of Nichlaus and Susannah Vogler on 27 Oct 1745; the baptism of Joh. Gorg s/o Gorg and Catherine Durr on 11 Sep 1751; the baptism of Anna Catharina of Joseph and Magdalena Welschans on 8 Oct 1752; the baptism of Lorentz Ulrich s/o Michael and Anna Maria on 26 May 1754; the baptism of Maria Barbara of Gerg and Maria Barbara Durr on 23 Jan 1755; the baptism of Joh. Gorg s/o of Nichlaus and Catharina Wild on 27 Jun 1756; the baptism of Barbara d/o Michael and Magdalena Haug on 1 May 1757; the baptism of John. Gorg s/o John Guckers and Maria Elisabeth on 6 May 1759; and the baptism of Anna Barbara s/o Joh. Emig and Maria Margreth on 8 Apr 1764. Some of these later baptisms could have been sponsored by their son Hans George and Barbara. In 1758 a road was proposed from George MAYERS plantation by the Widow Links to the house of Tobias Amspher, from which there already existed a good road to Baltimore Town, MD. In 1777-1778 George MEYER served in 6th. Co., 2nd. Batt., 1st. PA Regiment of Foot and saw action at Wilmington, DE on 3 Sep 1777. George and probably his brother Jacob served in Capt. Matthais' Co., Newberry Twp., 1 Jul 1780, a part of Michael S. Myser's Batt., York Co., Militia.
