24 David Hunter MYERS, b. 17 Sep 1810, Berkeley Co., WV, s/o Henry and Catherine (SEIBERT) MYERS (48/49), d. 27 Sep 1878, at  his residence in Scrabble, Berkeley Co., WV, m. 26 Feb 1838, Berkeley Co., (25)  Elizabeth Ann LEMASTER, b. 1 Mar 1818, Berkeley Co., d/o John and Nancy Ann (SHIVELY) LEMASTER (50/51), d. 7 Jan 1895, Berkeley Co. The suretor for the marriage was John LEMASTER. Both are buried Scrabble Church Cem., Scrabble, Berkeley Co., WV. There is little personal information about David Hunter and his wife Elizabeth. Even though the compiler's grandfather was about 13 years of age when his grandmother died (his grandfather had died before he was born), he did not have very much information concerning his grandparents. David, besides farming, owned and operated a store at Scrabble he bought from A. R. McQuilken. The building was 1 1/2 story wooden building. At his death, it went to his widow, Elizabeth Ann, who sold it in 1890 to Rawleigh Morgan. (O2, PI22, WVBE1, 3, 11-14, 18, WVBEB17 p219, 19 p19) Children:

Amen, I David MYERS of Berkeley Co., WV, being of sound and disposing mind make this my Will and testament. to wit, I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Ann MYERS my real estate in Hard Scrabble also all my personal property to be absolutely hers to displace of as she chooses and also to my beloved wife Elizabeth Ann MYERS, during her natural life the rents and profits from the Thompson Farm (now occupied by my son William H. MYERS) the taxes and expenses to be annually deducted from the rents and the entire residence to go to her for life at the death of my wife Elizabeth Ann, I give to my son William H. MYERS the privilege of taking the said Thompson farm at forty dollars an acre, the money arising from said farm to equally divided between my sons, William H., James H., Wendel S. MYERS of their heirs. The Bowman farm I will and bequeath to my three sons first paying all my debts, and two hundred dollars to James H. MYERS in consideration of repairs made by him on the house he now occupies the residence to be equally divided between my three sons above named. I leave to them to sell or dispose between my three sons above named. I leave to them to sell or dispose of it as in their judgement they may deem best I leave as Executors to this my last will my three sons above named. Dorothy was a member and chairman of the Berkeley County Landmark Commission, and the same positions in the Berkeley Co., Historical Society, an honorary regent of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter NSDAR, honored by the Natiuonal Society with the distinguished Commuity Service Award and an honorary state president of the U.S. Daughters of 1812. 24.3i1a John Anthrony KENDIG Jr. b. 4 Jul 1946, Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., WV, d. 25 Aug 2010, Martinsburg, age 64, in an accident on his farm in Greensburg/Scrabble area of Berkeley Co., m. Barbara SAGER. He was a 1966 graduate of Martinsburg High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 4th. Inf. Div from 1967-1968, serving in Vietnam in 1969. He was a member of the Southern States Petroleum Board in Spring Mills and Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church at Scrabble. He is buried in Rosedale Cem., Martinsburg. (O36) (Children see HF24.3i1a)

24.3i2 George Christian "Buck" TABLER, b. 11 Feb 1918, Scrabble, Berkeley Co., d. 16 Jun 2004, at his home, m. 30 Dec 1947, Berkeley Co., Margaret KENDIG, b. c1924, Berkeley Co., d/o John A. and Selina KENDIG. He graduated in 1936 from Shepherdstown High School, a 1940 graduate of Shepherd College; he earned master's degree from WVU in 1953. He was an elementary principal in Tomahawk, Bunker Hill, Burke Street in Martinsburg, and Inwood. He was member of Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church.
