192 Johan Dietrich MYERS bpt. 20 Mary 1721, GER, d. by 1792, Berkeley Co., VA, s/o Dionysius and Anna Maria (DORR) MYERS (384/385). He m. 1st. Anna Maria Magdalena _____?, d. before 1763, probably in York Co,, PA. She was the mother of all of the children. He married before 30 Aug 1763, Margaretha LEIB, d/o Johannes LEIB, from Reiben, Northern Kraichgau, GER. In 1732 Deitrich arrived in Philadelphia, named on a list of Lutheran parishoners. There was also a George MEYER probably his brother at the same time. On 1 Jan 1751, when he and Maria Magdalena sponsored the baptism of Maria Magdalena Ehmig, d/o Dewald and Susanna Ehmig. In 1754 Dieter was a member of the First Reformed Church in York. On 24 Mar 1755, through a survey error, George MEYER, brother of Dietrick (Deeter) relinquished 50 acres of land back to Deeter from a grant left by their father Dionysius, that had been included in George's survey. On 2 Jan 1757 Deeter for 75 pounds, 5 shillings sold to George MYERS a 400 acre track in Manchester Twp., that Dionysius had conveyed to Deeter. In Apr 1762, Dietrich was naturalized in Philadelphia, PA. On 18 Jun 1762 Dionysius for love and affection and 40 pounds sold to Deter a 400 acre tract lying on the west side of the Sasquahana (Susquehanna) River and the border of Cordorus Creek. The dates are confusing in these land transactions involving the 400 acres. It appears that the 400 acres is the same property, and that Dietrich sold it to George before he received it from his father. To confuse the situation on 27 Jan 1767, Deter for 300 pounds sold to Michael Smyser, tavernkeeper, 84 and 1/2 acres, part of the 400 acres from the original grant. At this point and before 1 Jun 1768, Deitrich must have moved to Berkeley Co., VA, where he leased from John Neely of Frederick Co., VA, for 5 shillings, a 200 acre tract granted to William Neely, dec., by Thomas Lord Fairfax. This land was on the Opequon Creek in what is now Berkeley Co., and was in the MYERS family for generations. The compilers great uncle James (#12.3) was still living on this farm in the 1960s. On ________, Deeder witnessed a deed between Peter Bedinger and Michael ANTLER (ENTLER) for a 1/2 arce lot in Mechlinburg (Sheperdstown), Jefferson Co., VA.
