2 Ruthvan Wellington MORROW Jr., b.13 Mar 1914, Shepherdstown, Jefferson Co., WV, s/o Ruthvan Wellington & Louise Moore (LICKLIDER) MORROW (4/5), d. 31 Aug 1997, Oakland, Garrett Co., MD ( body was donated to WVU Medical Center), m. 23 Mar 1936, Swan Pond area of , Berkeley Co., WV, on her father's farm, Martha Virginia MYERS, b. 6 Jun 1916, Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., WV, d/o William Mercer & Rosa Cecelia (MILLER) MYERS (6/7), d. 6 Feb 2003, Oakland, MD. (body was donated to WVU Medical Center). Their ashes were buried at Faith Methodist Cemetery, Cranesville, Preston Co., WV, in Oct 2002 and Oct 2005 respectively. R. W. graduated fro---m Shepherdstown High School, in Shepherdstown in 1933. He attended Shepherd College from 1933 to 1936, majoring in English and History, while taking courses in theology from Emory University. He began preaching in the Methodist church at Burlington, Mineral Co., WV in 1936. in 1940, the family moved to Petersburg, Grant Co., where during the war he was the president of the Red Cross. In 1946, the family again moved, this time to Rowlesburg, Preston Co., WV, and 1947 to Davis, Tucker Co., WV. In 1951 he resigned from the ministry. While in Davis, he began a second career in photography and began to produce post cards. The family operated a concession stand at Blackwater Falls State Park near Davis. In 1953, he bought a farm in Canaan Valley and raised cauliflower. At the same time, he went back to college and received his degree from Davis and Elkins College, in Elkins, WV in 1955. He began teaching school in Sep 1955 at Terra Alta, WV. In 1957, they moved to Oakland, MD. In 1961, R. W. began teaching at Northern High School at Accident, MD, and later moved to Oakland where he taught at Southern High School. He retired from teaching in 1978. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper, and ecologist all his life. He operated a post card business in Oakland until c1993. Martha graduated from Shepherdstown High School, and attended Shepherd College for a year majoring in business education. She spent most of her married life keeping the books for the farm, and operating Oakdale Studio, the family photography business in Oakland, while R. W. was teaching. They celebrated their 50th. OBITUARY:
 R. W.: Ruthvan W. MORROW Jr., 83, of 10 South Fifth Street, Oakland, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997, at Garrett County memorial Hospital, Oakland. Born Mar. 13 1914, in Shepherdstown, WV, he was son of the late Ruthvan W. and Louis LICKLIDER MORROW. Mr. MORROW was a retired Methodist minister, he taught in the Garrett County school system for many years, was a well known professional photographer, and was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Martha MYERS MORROW; two sons, Dale W. MORROW, Severn, and William R. MORROW, Lancaster, KY; one daughter, Dianne V. RICE, Oakland; two brothers, Edward MORROW, Martinsburg, WV, and Henry MORROW, Shepherdstown; one sister, Elizabeth BUSEY, Martinsburg, WV; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. MORROW donated his body to the WV Human Gift Registry. A memorial service will be conducted at the Faith United Methodist Church, Cranesville, WV, on Sat., Sept 13, 1997, at 1 p.m., with Rev. David Stackpole officiating. the family requests memorials take the form of contributions to the Ruth Enlow Library, Southern Rescue Squad, or The Nature Conservancy, Attn: Planned Giving, Box M997, 1815 North Lynn St., Arlington, VA 22209. Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements. (MDNP2, 2 Sep 1997) NOTE: It is incorrectly stated that R. W. was a retired minister (he resigned from the Pittsburgh Conference of the Methodist Church c1951/2), and that he was a member of Faith Methodist Church. The is no evidence that he ever rejoined the church. (O6)

Bill graduated from Mountineer High School, Thomas, WV, finished 1 year of college at Potomac State in Keyser, WV. He joined the navy as an Aerographers Mate. After the navy, he returned to Potomac State for one year, then to WVU where he graduated with a degree in Agriculture. He then attended Tennessee University where he received a PHD in Ag Economics. He retired from teaching at Eastern KY University, Richmond, KY, in 1998. He now owns and operates a tobacco farm near Lancaster, KY. He also preaches in a number of churches in the area.
