16.2 John James MORROW, b. 2 Apr 1835, Summit Point, Jefferson Co., WV, s/o Joseph and Sarah Ellen LOCK MORROW (16), d. 3 Dec 1893, age 59, of pneumonia, Busch, Pike Co., IL, m. 1st., 26 Oct 1855 , Frederick Co., MD,  Ellen Elizabeth AHALT, b. c1838, probably Frederick Co., MD d/o Jacob AHALT , d. c1862/64, Palmyra, Marion Co., MO (grave not located). J. J. m. 2nd., 26 Apr 1864,  in Pike Co., MO, Nancy Elizabeth COLVIN, b. 27 Apr 1841, in Pike Co, d/o William and Frances BURTON COLVIN , d. 20 Dec 1932, at Ashburn, Pike Co, MO, buried Riverview Cemetery. The first child died in Jefferson Co., VA, in 1856. After his death and before 1860,  they appear in the 3rd. Ward, Palmyra, Marion Co., MO, along with Ellen's father, Jacob AHALT. and Willliam H. MORROW (16.4), a law student, his brother in the household.  J. J. was briefly in the U. S. Army during the Civil War, but is listed as a deserter. His wife Ellen died, and being a widower with small children, he may have simply come home and not returned to service, not to mention that he may have been forced into duty with the Union, while the rest of the family was much aligned with the Confederacy. He remarried in 1864, and in 1865, he move to Pleasant Hill, IL , across the river from Louisiana, MO. By occupation, he was farmer, blacksmith, and butcher, following the tradition of his father. He was a constable in Pleasant Hill, and a justice of the peace in Derry Township. The family was still in Pike Co., IL in 1880. Before 1893 they bought property in Busch, MO, a wide spot in the road, on the Pike-Ralls Co., MO line. J. J. died there in 1893. He and 2nd. wife Nancy are buried in Riverview Cemetery, Louisiana, MO. The burial is recorded, but there are no stones. There are numerous deeds in Ralls Co., MO, and Pike Co., IL, listing land transactions in which J. J. was involved. Obituary: John J. MORROW, d. at Busch, MO, Sun, 3 Dec 1893, aged 59, of pneumonia; the remains arrived here (Louisiana, MO) Tuesday morning. The funeral took place from Centenary Methodist Church, burial in the city cemetery. A Widow and three Children survive. He was the brother of Capt. W. H. MORROW. (MONP3)

16.2b Albert William MORROW, b. c1859, probably in Palmyra, Marion Co., MO,  d. 22 Sep 1887, Bowling Green, Pike Co., MO. In 1860, he lived  with his father in Marion Co., MO , and in 1880 with his father in Pike Co., IL . In 1887, while traveling with his uncle, William Hamilton MORROW, of Louisiana, Pike Co., MO, near Bowling Green, Pike Co., the horses ran away with the buggy in which they were riding. W. 16.2d James William MORROW, b. 2 Nov 1868, Pleasant Hill, Pike Co., IL, d. 2 Aug 1956, Hannibal, Marion Co., MO, m. 26 Mar 1896, St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO, Ruby Elliott ST. JOHN, b. 3 Jul 1873, Ralls Co., MO, d/o Reuben Todd & Louise Jane HARRIS ST. JOHN, d. 16 Oct 1945, Hannibal, MO. Both are buried in Barkley Cemetery, New London, Rall Co., MO.  James William and family lived in Ashburn, Pike Co., MO, a small town on the Pike/Ralls Co. line, on the river bottom near the confluence of the Salt and Mississippi Rivers. Ruby MORROW taught school in Ashburn in Ralls Co. They moved to Hannibal in their later years, probably to be near their daughter Ruby Maude. Their only son, Francis was killed on the Pike Peak Railroad Tram, when he fell to his death  and was run over by one of cars ((MONP8, O2, PI19-20). Children:

Jul 1942, Quincy, Adams Co., IL. She is buried in Barkley Cemetery, New London, Rall Co.; he is buried in Union Cemetery, Arenzville, IL. Their only son, Gerald, was killed in Korea. Peggy graduated from Western IL State University, taught in deaf education, and now owns a antique shop on the Los Angeles area. 16.2d1d Gerald Edward CHARLESWORTH, b. 5 Aug 1932, d. 5 Jul 1953, worked at several jobs after high school, then joined the Marine Corps. After training at Camp Pendleton, CA, he was sent directly to Korea. He earned enough points to return home, but was sent to the front prior to the truce, where he was killed on 5 Jul 1953 (LE23, MOMA10).

Written consent for the marriage was provided by Fern MULLINEX and Louise CHARLESWORTH. In __________ she was living in Hannibal, MO. She m. 2nd. in __________, in Las Vegas, Clarke Co., NV, John ENCARNACAO (now divorced). She attended college for two years, and was a stewardess for Western Airlines, sold real estate, and worked as a court interpreter. 16.2d3 Francis S. MORROW, b. 28 Jul 1906, d. 9 Aug 1922. According to his obituary, Francis fell from a train on the Pike's Peak Cog railroad while visiting in Denver, Denver Co., CO. He died two miles past the halfway house. He was 15 years of age at the time of his death (MONP8).
