198 George Nicholas MONG, b. c1730, in Europe, s/o (See rational why Gottfried MONG  is possibly the parent of George Nicholas MONG 396) d. c1792, Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD, m. probably prior to 1752, (199) Mary Catherine _____?, died after 1792.  Nicholas MONG, a German,  was naturalized in Frederick Co.,  4 Sep 1764. In 1778, he signed the Patriot's Oath of Fidelity and Support in Joseph Spriggs returns. A land grant survey names him as owner of "Nancy", 290 acres on 7 Apr 1769. A daughter, Maria Magdalena b. 30 Sep 1753, bpt. 6 Oct 1753. This child probably d. young, and is not listed below in the list of children. Present at the baptism was Maria Catharina JESSERANIAN, among others. another tie to the JESSERAN family. In 1790, Washington Co., MD, George Nicholas had 1 white male over 16 and 1 female in the household. George Nicholas MONG'S will was dated 28 Jan 1792, names wife, Mary Catherine, all money, bonds, and interest, plus the dwelling forever, his plantation to sons Adam and Jacob. Adam, the son, and John SEIBERT named executors., witnessed by George Hoopner, Ludwig Young, and Daniel Rudel. The will was proved 11 Feb 1792. WILL: George Nicholas  MONG of Washington Co., MD, yoeman, will dated 28 Jan 1792, very sick; to wife Mary Catherine, all money in bonds or lint out plus interest forever; to possess the dwelling and all household goods, etc., for live, except the items she has no use of to be shared with heirs equally, plus certain provisions of food. To two older sons, Adam and Jacob, my plantations if they stand to the will. If not, land to next oldest sons Henry and John; provisions to my wife to be supplied by the possessors of the pantation. Son Adam, and John SEIBERT executors, signed George Nicholas MONG; George Hoopner, Ludwig Young, Daniel Rudel, proved 11 Feb 1792. (MDWAB10, 20)

198.3 Eve MONG, b. 1750-54, d. 16/17 Apr 1830, Washington Co, PA, m c1771, Philip HEWITT, b. c1741, Philadelphia, PA, d. 2 Feb 1823 Canton Twp., Washington Co., PA. He is buried in Hewitt Cemetery. The HEWITTS had migrated from Philadelphia to Berks Co., PA, to Washington Co., MD, thence to Washington County, PA. He settled in Amwell Twp., and attended Bethleham Lutheran Church.  (FH30, 31,  LE32) The names of the children are listed below. All of the children of Eve and Philip migrated to OH, in the counties of Mahoning, Knox, Stark, Wood, Carroll, and Fairfield. Bell has listed the names of the children of Philip and Eve's , with their birth dates. Children:

198.9a Nancy MONG, b. 14 Oct 1801, Berkeley Co., VA, d. 25 Dec 1878 (25th Feb in obituary), Hedgesville, Berkeley Co., WV, m. c5 Apr 1834, Berkeley Co., John ZORN, b. 21 Feb 1795, MD, d. 5 May 1873 (3rd may in obituary), Hedgesville. In 1850 they were farming in Berkeley Co., and in 1860 they were living in Hedgesville. In 1870, he is listed as a retired farmer. They are buried in Old German Lutheran Reformed Cem., Martinsburg, WV. (WVBE10-13, WVBEB17 p112, 208). Children:

198.9a2 Joseph ZORN, b. c1827, probably in Berkeley Co., m. 16 Apr 1853, Berkeley Co., by James Jenkins, Amie Jane RICHARDS (identified in some records as Emma). Joseph and Amie migrated to Ohio in 1856-57, and after 1868 to Dodge Co., NE. In the 1880 census, and the 1885 NE State Census, they were living in Platte Twp., in Dodge Co. Joseph is listed at a farmer in the 1880 censes, age 35 years old (obviously the age is a mistake. (NEDO3-4, WVBE1, 10) Children:

Osborn, minister, Dodge Co., NE, Fremont, Dodge Co., Mary HOOPER, b. 24 Nov 1862, Dodge Co., d. 22 Aug 1919, d/o Richard and Elizabeth (GOODMAN) HOOPER (mother consenting). John migrated to OH and then NE with his parents in the spring of 1872 where they settled in Platte Twp. He lived in Sec. 13 Cotterell Twp., Dodge Co. In the spring of 1876, he worked for himself and farmed for 4 years in Platte Twp., when he bought his own farm. He was listed as a farmer in the Dodge County List of Farmers 1890/91. They and two children are buried in block 266, lot 4, Ridge Cem., Fremont, NE. The was 'Women's Relief Corps NE 127' iron marker beside the grave. (NE1, NEDO5-7, NEDOB3, 7, 10, O6, NESSB1) Children:

In the 1920 Census, she is listed as Grace GORIAM, and her husband is listed as Earl GORIAM, b. IN. (NEDO6, 12). Child:

ZORN, b. c1829, VA William may have m. 3 times: In the 1860 census his wife is Arabella b. c1835; in 1870 his wife is Nancy J. ____?, b. c1838, VA, d. bef. 1880; and in the 1880 census, Elizabeth (____?) MORE b. c1827, MD. William was farmer in Berkeley Co., WV in 1860 and 1870. In 1870, Daniel Olinger 23, b. VA, a farm laborer was living in the home. In 1880 he and Elizabeth were in Thompson Twp., Fulton Co., PA. In the house was Elizabeth MORE 26, his step-daughter.
