Montgomery Co. records indicate he is buried in David's Church Cem, which is the same as Creager Cem. Lewis was one of the founders of David's Church, in Van Buren Twp., now the Church of Christ. It was formerly the German Reformed and Lutheran. In 1797, they buried two children at Zion Reformed Lutheran Church, in Middletown, Ferderick Co. On 2 May 1799 Lewis was a deacon at Zion Reformed in Middletown. On 22 Dec 1799 Lewis and Chatarin sponsored Chaterin Hann d/o George and Elizabeth Hann at Zion, Middletown. On 1 Jan 1801 they sponsored Henrich Martine s/o Henrich and Marcareth Martine. On Nov 1806, Lewis was on a jury in the case of the state vs. Samuel Morrison for thief of hogs. In 1808, he inventoried and appraised the estate of Christian Prime, and on 29 Apr 1812, the estate of John Fryberger. He is listed on a Montgomery Co., OH, tax list as a resident proprietor. Ludwig and Chatarine sponsored a daughter of George and Elisabeth Hann 22 Dec ____, and Anamaie d/o Casper and Elisabeth Hering in Maryland. However the exact dates are missing. They settled nr. New Madison, Adams Twp., Darke Co., 1832. They cut a road to their land from New Harrison, built a log house and were living in it within a week. In 1850 Elizabeth was living with her children with her mother in the home. The daughter Emeline was listerd as insane. In 1870, Elizabeth was living with son Josiah. Thomas and Elizabeth were two of the founders of Zion Reformed Lutheran Church. They are bur. in Gettysburg Cem., Darke Co., with daughter Emeline and son Daniel. In 1870 Adnah and Malissa were living with Herman Stable in Adams Twp., Darke Co.; Mary Ann was living with Menerva PECK, described as a niece to Minerva. He owned a mill in Miami Co., OH for 2 years. He then returned to Darke Co., and bought his father's farm. In 1870 he was living with his brother Josiah. In 1880 he was living with William A. At age 18 he clerked in a store in Greenville, Darke Co., OH, later clerking in a store in Beamsville. After his marriage he moved to Ansonia and was in the gorcery and dry goods business. In 1865, he owned a store in Horation. He was elected Justice of the Peace in 1875, and was appointed Postmaster at Haratio in 1870, then ticket and freight agent at Haratio for the P.C. and L. Railroad. In the 1860 census they were in Brown Twp, Darke Co., and from 1870 to 1900, Adams Twp., Darke Co. In 1860 Harriet Slusser was in the houshold. In 1910 they were in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH.
