James Taut from Rotterdam, last from Cowes,  c1748, when he is recorded taking the Oath of Government on 15 Sep 1748. He resided in Manchester Twp., York Co., PA, in 1750 and was taxed there in 1762. They sponsored some baptisms while living in York Co.: on 11 May 1755 Johann s/o Gorg Phillips Jacob and Margretha by Rev. Lischy; on 7 Dec 1760 Johann s/o Johann Wahl and Anna Maria by Jacob Lischy; on 23 May 1762 Johann s/o Johann Daentzel amd Margaretta; on 28 Apr 1767? Maria Barbara d/o Conrad Becker and Maria Catharina at Quickel's Church; on 30 Oct 1757 Johann s/o Johan Finck and Catharina by Jacob Licshy; on 8 Sep 1771 at Strayer's Church, Maria Barbara d/o Jacob Muller and Elisabeth.  In 1772 he was taxed 15 pound 2 shillings, 6 spence in Manchester Twp.. They sponsored on 9 Apr 1765 at Quickel's;  Maria Barbara d/o Ludwig Meyer and Maria Barbara; and on 16 Mar 1766, Johann s/o Andreas Muller and Dorethea at Quickel's. On 8 Sep 1871, Johannes and Maria Barbara sponsored the bpt. of Maria Barbara d/o Jacob and Elisabetha Muller at at Salem or Strayers Reformed Church, Dover, York Co., PA. He moved to Germantown, Montgomery Co., PA in 1771, but paid tax of 25 pounds, 16 shillings in Manchester Twp., York Co. on 100 acres, 3 horses and 3 cattle. John and Barbara raised a large family in York Co., PA. He bought the 150 acre farm that belonged to his father from this brothers and sisters. In 1779 John paid 25 pounds 16 shillings tax on 100 acres, 3 horses, and 3 cattle in Manchester Twp., York Co. In 1783 he had 3 horned cattle, 4 horses and 100 acres, valued at 66 pounds 10 shillings, taxed 5 shillings 9 pence. bpt. 27 May 1756, m. bet. 1775 and 1777, Henrich DUNDORE (or DUNDOR, DUNTOHR, DUNTOR, TUNDORE), s/o John and Christina DUNDORE of Dover Twp., York Co., PA.. Some of the children of this family may have migrated to and lived in NY according to the HUMRICHOUSE history. However a search of the census reveals that most DUNDORES were living in Berks Co., PA, a very few went into the mid west. On 20 May 1774 Henry warranted 80 acres in Conewago Twp. In 1779 he paid tax of 4 pounds 13 shillings on 80 acres, 1 horse, and 2 cattle in Dover Twp., York Co., PA.  In 1783 he had 3 horned cattle,  horses and 100 acres, valued at 66 pounds 10 shillings, taxed 5 shillings 9 pence.Henrich probably m. 2nd., Hannah _____?, the wife named in his will. The children's birth records are from Zion Lutheran church, Conewago Twp., York Co., PA, also known as Quickel's Union Church. Henrich DUNMORE'S will was probated on 7 May 1817, Dover Twp., York Co, PA. The children were all baptized at Quickel's. Christiana _____? b. between 1774 and 1794. In 1810 there was 1 male under 10 ?, 1 male 26-45 (John), 3 females under 10 (probably Catherine, Elizabeth, and Susan), 1 female 26-45 (Christiana). They were in Elizabeth Hundred (Hagerstown), Washington Co. In 1820 Christiana was living in the 3rd. District, Washington Co., with 1 male 0-10, 1 female 10 to 16, and 1 female 26-45 (Christiana). His uncle, Peter HUMRICHOUSE, was the administrator of his estate on 1 Jun 1825. Johannes or John DUNDORE left a widow and 6 children. The total value of his estate was $110.25. Jacob left home, taking a trip down the Mississippi River, and eventually ended up in Hagerstown, MD, as an apprentice to a carriage maker (prob. Uncle Peter HUMRICHOUSE who was engaged in that business). Jacob served in War of 1812, later settling in Fairfield Co., OH in 1829. When the family moved from Fairfield Co., they settled in Lafayette, IN, moving in a few weeks to Delphi, on the Wabash River, thence to Camden, Carroll Co., IN in the spring of 1830. He was on the grand jury in 1830. On 13 Mar 1831, he was appointed Constable in Deer Park Twp. On 10 Aug 1834, Jacob and John (brother?) joined the Old Settlers Society. Jacob settled on a Quarter Section of land, now owned (1913) by Edward Wright HUMRICHOUSE. In 1860, he was living in Jackson Twp., Miami Co., IN. John moved to Tipton Co., with his parents in 1810, then to Jennings Co., IN, in 1819. He entered Hanover College in 1838 staying until 1838, then farmed for 5 years. He began to study law in 1838 under Wilberfore Lyle of Madison Co., IN, was admitted to the bar in 4 years and soon after the Supreme and U. S. Courts. In 1848 he moved to Tipton Co., purchasing 80 acres of land and 2 lots in Tipton, later adding 40 acres to the original purchase. In earlier days he was a Justice of the Peace and Twp. trustee and served 2 terms in the state senate (1856 and 1868).In 1860 he was elected Common Pleas Judge for Hanover, Tipton, Howard, Grant and Clifton counties. He was first married to Nancy Marshall of Jefferson Co., IN on 14 Apr 1859; she d. 7 Oct 1865, in Tipton, by whom he had 5 children: Milton F., Alice B., Brandt, Mrs. Catherine G. Trout and John Q. He then married Catherine. After her death he m. 7 Sep 1876, Caroline Passwater. From 1860 through 1880 they were living in Cecero Twp., Tipton Co.
