IN 1860 Daniel and Eliza were living in Washington, DC, where Daniel was a tax collector. In the home was Thomas QUANTRILL, age 75, Eliza's father, Uriah HILTON 24, probably a tax agent and his wife Caroline HILTON 22, Daniel and Eliza's daugther. 346.5c2 Mary E. LECKRONE b. Aug 1834, MM, m. 5 Oct 1859, Washington, DC, Joseph H. GODFREY b. Jul 1834, DC. In 1860 Joseph was a bricklayer or brick mason in Washington. In 1860 Martha GODFREY 50, and Virginia GODFREY 28, probably the Mary Virginia who m. Thomas Q. LECKRONE (346.5c1) are in the home. In 1870 William Lock 22, a painter and wife Virginia Lock were living in the household. In 1900 there was a granddaughter, Alma, b. Aug 1863 in the home. In 1910 May was a widow living with 3 of her daughters, Mary, Lydia, and Mabel. Mary was a dressmaker, Lydia a telephone operator and Mabel was a government clerk. (WSDCB6, WSDC6-11) Children:

346.5c2a Thomas H. GODFREY b. c1860, Washington, DC, m. 16 Sep 1889, DC, Annie J. CRAWFORD b. May 1866, MD. According to their marriage record, Annie CRAWFORD was from Montgomery Co., MD. In 1910 and 1920, Thomas was a bricklayer/brickmason living in the District. (WSDCB8, WSDC9-11) Children:

LECKRONE b. 16 May 1837, MD, d. 14 Apr 1915, Washington, DC, m. 25 Feb 1857, DC, Uriah David HILTON (one record David Uriah), b. 8 Sep 1835, MD, d. 11 Oct 1886, DC, s/o Joshua and Maria Harriet (STONE) HILTON. In 1870 Uriah was listed as a broker, living in DC. Daniel LECKRONE, Caroline's father and her brother, George R. LECRONE were living in the home. There was also a domestic servant, Martha Butler. In 1880 David was listed with no occupation; George R. was a bookkeeper, and Maria H. HILTON 78 were in the household. By 1900 and 1910 Caroline was a widow. David Jr., a steam fitter, Lucy and George were listed as patent attorneys. By 1910 George R. was listed as a draughtsman for the Forest Service. Also in the home was daughter, Minnie E. STUARD, her husband William STUARD, and a daughter Cornelia STUARD. Caroline, Uriah, 5 infant children, plus other family members are buried in Oak Hill Cem., Lot 78 1/2 east, Georgetown, DC. the infant children were removed from Holmead's Burying Ground on 5 Oct 1881 to Oak Hill. 346.5c3a Minnie E. HILTON b. 1864, Washington, DC, d. bef. 24 Dec 1943 (date of burial), DC, m. 17 Jun 1890 (date of burial), DC, William Louis STUARD. IN 1910 Minnie, her husband and daughter Cornelia were living with her mother, Caroline HILTON in DC. IN 1920 Minnie was listed as the head of household, with brothers George and Pinckney, and sister Lucy in the home. Pinckney was listed as a linotype operator. Daughter Cornelia was an artist. They are bur. in Oak Hill Cem., Georgetown, DC, along with Cornelia and James H., their son and daughter. (FH52, WSDCB8, WSDC10-11) Children:

346.5c3c James M. HILTON b. 6 Aug 1867, Washington, DC, d. 11 Sep 1901, DC, m. Frances M. MOFFETT b. 19 Oct 1869, DC, d. 8 Jan 1939, DC, d/o Benjamin J. and Charlotte M. (KELLY?) MOFFETT. In 1900 they were living in Washington with Susannah F. KELLEY b. Jun 1824, ENG, listed as a grandmother, Charlotte MOFFETT b. Sep 1846,NY, his mother-in-law, and Nannie K. MOFFETT b. Jan 1875, DC, his sister-in-law. In 1910 Frances was a widow. In 1920 Frances was living with a Gideon H. and Catherine E. Ball. There is a recorded will for Frances in DC, Box 1450, dated 1939 (the compiles has not seen the will). James and Frances are bur. in Lot 353 E, Oak Hill Cem., Georgetown, DC, in the same lot as her parents and grandmother Susannah KELLY. They apparently had no children. (WSDCB3, WSDC9-10) children:

In 1880 James was a plasterer in DC living with his parents George and Esther? in the home. In 1900 Laura is a widow with Maggie and her husband, William R. MCQUTHRAN in the household, and a grandson age 1 (name to difficult to read). Athe time of Jame's death they wer living at 1808 I Street, NW in DC. James was bur. in Sec. 346.5d5 Clara J. LECKRONE b. c1845, Md, d. aft. 1920, m. 20 Nov 1865, Washington, DC. Benjamin S. PIKE b. Dec 1842, MA, d. bef. 1910. IN 1880 Benjamin was a clerk in the Treasury Dept. they must have gone to MA before Edith was born, and returned to DC before Minnie was born. In 1900 Minnie', husband Albert E. SHEPHERD, and Ernest? S. (son?)  were living with Clara and Benjamin. In 1910 Sewall? Shepherd 10, listed as a granddaughter (maybe a grandson) was in the honme, as well as the in the 1920 census, again listed as a female. 'Ernest' may be a misinterpretation of the name in 1900. by 1910 Clara is a widow and in 1920 Edith is listed as the head of the household. (WSDCB6, WSDC8-11) Children:

346.5c5b Edith M. PIKE b. Nov 1873, MA, probably never married. In 1900 through 1920 she is living with her mother in Washington, DC. In both 1910 and 1920 she is lilsted as a card clerk on clerk at Library of Congress. (WSDC9-11)

346.5c5c Minnie E. PIKE b. Sep 1878,Washington, DC. m. c1898, Albert E. SHEPHERD b. Sep 1876, NY. In 1900 Minnie and Albert, described as a clerk for S.R.R, with a child Ernest? S. age 1, are living with Minnie's parents. In the 1920 census neither Minnie or Albert are present, but a child 'Sewall' described as a granddaughter to Clara PIKE is in the home; and again in 1920, living with Edith and Clara. The 'Ernest S.' may be in fact the 'Sewall' female in 1910 and 1920. (WSDC9-11) Children:
