242.6 Susannah CRONE b. 18 Nov 1764, d. 28 Sep 1852, Highland Co., OH, d/o Johann Conrad and Anna Margaret (SINN) CRONE (242/243), m. Bath (Berkeley Springs), VA, Lewis DUCKWALL b. 1753, GER, d. 9 May 1847, age 94y, Highland Co. Lewis' parents were from Germany and settled in Berkeley Co., VA, when Lewis was small child. His brother Henry, died in the Revolutionary War. Lewis and Susannah migrated to OH in a Prairie Schooner, built a log cabin on what is now New Vienna Pike. He purchased the greater part of Survey No. 2, 319. They built a second home on the opposite side of the road from the log cabin. In the 1850 census Susannah with son, John, lived in Liberty Twp., where John is a cripple with no occupation. The cemetery where he is buried may now be covered by a farm pond on the old DUCKWALL farm. (OHHIB8 p39, 9 p228, 795-797, OHHI5) Children:

242.6b Frederick DUCKWALL, b. c1787, VA, m. first Charlotte _____?; m. 2nd. 27 Jun 1843, Highland Co., OH, by William M. Reynolds, Catherine EDWARDS, b. c1805. He may have married a 3rd. time, 8 Jan 1852, Jane FOWLER, by William M. McReynolds. Frederick was a veteran of the War of 1812. In 1820 he had 1 male 45 and up, 4 females 10-16, and one female over 45. He was a farmer on some of the acreage his father had bought. In 1850, he was farming in Liberty Twp., Highland Co.; in 1860 he was in Salem Twp.; and in 1870, he was living with daughter, Elvira WILLIAMS, and was listed as a 82 years old invalid. Mary relinquished her right to administer the estate of her husband in favor of Hugh HILL and Lewis DUCKWALL Jr. On 29 Oct 1829. 242.6d John DUCKWALL, m. 21 Oct 1813, by Joseph Swearingen JP, Highland Co., OH, Elizabeth HILL, probably the daughter of William 'Billy' HILL Sr. John fought in the War of 1812, and farmed on acreage his father had bought. In 1820, there was one male under 10, 1 male over 45 (John), 2 females 10-16, and 1 female 26-45 in the household. His wife must have died prior to 1850, when John, a cripple with no occupation is living with his mother. (OHHI7, 9 p795, OHHI2, 5)
